This is where this disaster has started—at the door of a start-up company called Rivian that is currently the darling of Wall Street. They say they are the wave of the future, a non-polluting manufacturer of battery-powered trucks/autos. Yet they have set out to destroy our small Georgia towns, rural countryside, and natural environment!
Moreover, we have discovered that Rivian and their partner The Nature Conservancy are rank hypocrits. They mouth nonsense about their being in favor of “land conservation” , “biodiversity”, and “protecting what we love”. They brag on their website about saving the “Nachusa Grasslands, owned and operated by The Nature Conservancy just a few hours away from the Rivian plant in Normal, Illinois, [that] spans 3,800 acres of prairie, woodlands and wetlands”. Yet they think nothing about destroying our 2,000 acres of pastures, farms, ponds, acquifers, and wildlife surrounded by our exquisite small towns and rural life.
Click here to see what we mean about Rivian’s hypocrisy when what Rivian really means is to put on us a vehicle and battery plant that will be FIVE TIMES bigger than their plant in Illiniois that is pictured below:
Tell Rivian to go somewhere else!
